Form / Material / Making
Bamboo.
In motion.
A bicycle concept developed from the frame outwards. Sketches become geometry; geometry becomes a complete assembly.
Industrial design studies by Hubert Dungen.
With Adaptus, co-authored with Samuel Silva, and my physical portfolio prototype.
Complete bicycle / original CAD render01 / Bamboo bicycle · 2025
Structure starts
with a line.
The IADE brief brought together material exploration, modelling and technical drawing. I developed the bamboo-led frame, the connections and the complete CAD assembly.

Sketchbook / alcohol marker
Before any CAD, the bicycle was worked out in alcohol markers: one colour per material, the curved rear stay and the joints that hold the frame together.

A bamboo-led frame with the material’s character carried through the surfaces.
Proportion, tube alignment and the relationship to the wheel and rear assembly.
Articulated joints and interfaces considered as parts of the same object.
02 / Model & drawing
Look closer.
The joints, rear linkage and fasteners are where the proposal becomes specific. Close views sit alongside the original dimensioned drawings.

The renders carry the idea; the drawing set fixes it. Overall envelope, tube geometry and the joints that hold the frame together, each to the millimetre.

Academic concept / CAD study. The bicycle is presented as a design proposal, not a manufactured or road-tested product.
03 / Adaptus 3D-Clamp · 2025
Hold gently.
Make precisely.
A clamp for joining delicate 3D-printed parts while slow-curing adhesives set. The challenge was to control pressure and protect the surface, with both fixed and extendable versions.

A measured turn.
A broad printed screw explores finer adjustment of clamping pressure.
A softer interface.
A layered pad concept separates the rigid frame from the part being held.
Two versions.
A fixed frame and a sliding design explore different working openings.

Two drawing sets / 8 × A3
Same reach.
Two mechanisms.
Both versions keep the 213 mm frame and the 268 mm overall height, drawn here at the same scale. The fixed clamp is one printed C; the extendable one splits it into two parts that lock on a toothed rail.

Hubert Dungen & Samuel Silva / IADE, Design Industrial. The prototype exposed areas for another iteration: fixing, fit and printing tolerances. Photographs are shown at presentation size without enlargement.
04 / Physical portfolio · 2026
The portfolio
becomes the object.
The “CV outside the box” brief became a tablet-shaped presentation system: a printed enclosure, a removable rear CV and a USB housing sharing the same industrial language.

DESIGN / DISASSEMBLY / PRESENTATION
Made to show
how it is made.
The object is designed to be opened during a presentation, making the printed shell, assembly and internal layout part of the conversation.

IADE / Design Visual, integrating industrial design. The enclosure prototype was 3D-printed. An 8-inch display, Raspberry Pi and physical navigation were planned; the images do not claim a completed electronic device.
